What's Wrong with Some Innocent Fun??!

What's Wrong With A Little Innocent Fun?
Most people, even Christian believers, defend Halloween as only "A little innocent fun for the kids". It may be innocent, but is it fun to mimic (however unknowingly) devil worship, female sacrifice, and witchcraft? Once the Christian household allows paganism into it's midst, then how much harder is it for Satan to get us involved in real druidism? The Ouija board, seemingly harmless, is no less than a familiar spirit:
Leviticus 20:6-7 "And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God."
Deuteronomy 18:10-13 "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God."
The question that the Christian must ask his or her self is this: "Do I want to play Satan's game? Do I want to participate in a festival that originates from human sacrifice and demon worship? What do I want my children to learn?" Take a hard look at these questions: your spiritual condition (as well as that of your children) depend on your answer.
Are there alternatives? Absolutely!..
ABOLISH HALLOWEEN!
Many Churches have begun promoting "Fall Festivals" on Halloween night. The festivals are held at Church. Children are offered Christian activities, and adults have valuable time in which to fellowship with each other, but this is not enough! Other Christians use Halloween night as a time to take their children out to eat, (be aware that many restaurants participate in dressing up as gouls etc.), to skate, to a clean movie, or just to spend quality time with them. You do not need to deprive your children of fun in order to avoid Satan's traps, but be careful, and be aware of your surroundings.
Matthew 10:16 "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."
Christians MUST use Halloween as an opportunity to witness to "visitors", and to our communities! Rather than decorating your yard with ghosts and ghouls, focus on being Christian.
(There will be an upcomming article on "How to make bold statements with Pumpkins" upcoming. Check back with us often!) Share Love and Salvation through Jesus Christ. Be prepared to give out "treats" to the children. Give out Little Bibles or New Testaments with the candy. Tell the children about your Savior, but with discretion. (This is for now, the most critical part of the ABOLISH HALLOWEEN CAMPAIGN!) Stock up on Bibles to give away! Little ones(mini Bibles) are Best. Reclaim the night for Jesus! Reclaim this land for the Lord!

Our church hosts a "harvest fest" as an alternative to Halloween, with no mention of the "holiday" offered. Done to the glory of God, it has proven to be an effective evangelical tool, something people in the community appreciate.

Oh no! Halloween is fun! We don’t want to abolish Halloween. Yeah, it is a pagan holiday. But nobody cares. Just like Christmas is a Christian holiday and nobody cares either. We need fun in life, and wearing costumes and trick-or-treat are a great childhood memory. You are a Halloween Scrooge! Boo on YOU!

Hello Mr. davedol, I would like as politely as possible to inform you how extremely WRONG you are. First of all I CARE!, and I am not alone. That is why We are raising this Campaign to Abolish Halloween as a Recognized National Holiday, and the reason I am maintaining this site. I did some research, and I believe that I did find the fun of which you speak.
Jeremiah 16:5
For this is what the LORD says: "Do not enter a house where there is a funeral meal; do not go to mourn or show sympathy, because I have withdrawn my blessing, my love and my pity from this people," declares the LORD.
There are so many who have misplaced importance in their quest for fun. I can only suggest that you rethink, and decide to put priority, and importance into your quest to obtain success in fulfilling the first commandment. We have been misled so badly by our own culture already. Please love our children, and dont make fruitless fun their priority. LOVE THE LORD!

I agree with you. I dislike the "holiday" itself. I love FALL and I love things that represent fall harvest, like pumpkins, scarecrows, bales of hay, gourds, mums, etc ...

I haven't given out candy or anything like that for years. When our daughter was born and we started attending a church that has a Fiesta night on Oct. 31st to reach out to the community ... I allow my little one to dress up.

It wasn't until THIS year (at age 4) in preschool (a Christian preschool) that she heard the term "halloween" and has mentioned it. She and I will have a talk about it.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Hi Beth!,
Don't forget to tell her that it is possible to take advantage of the visitations, by distributing Little Bibles to all those who may be led astray, and enticed by all the Halloween lies.
